Default Unknown Usb

Bob,I install a new prom into the ecm .When I rebooted PL I get a com port error.In the device manager it is an UNKNOWN USB.No PL in the device manager .Is this a cable or connection problem?It has worked flawless and now cant get to connect

the software didn't change, it sounds like a USB or cable problem.

Okay so im past all that it was the USB cable i think now when I go to Device manager to install the Drivers I get this message and it wont install completely.I tryed the new drivers you sent me and the same thing .Im running window XP and have used this computer for two years now.I tryed my other laptop and it works anyone have any ideas
